Well, today you’re going to see something you have never seen before with those eyes of yours. Above all, Film is a visual medium and these two movies seem poised to hammer that idea home in spectacular fashion. The first is Ang Lee’s “Life of Pi”. For those lucky enough to have caught “Prometheus” in 3D, you were treated to an entire scene from ‘Life of Pi’ and I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it left you in some sort of awe. At least it did for me. The 3D is easily the best I have ever seen and while I know nothing of the story, it’ll be worth watching the entire film with glasses on. This reminds me a lot of Tarsem’s “The Fall” in many ways and I am eager to see how the finished film looks and feels. For know I leave you with this stunning teaser.
It’s impossible to even begin to describe what you’re about to see. From the famed team that brought us into the world of ’The Matrix’ comes their adaptation of David Mitchells novel, of the same name, ‘Cloud Atlas’. I wouldn’t even call this a trailer. It’s a whopping 6min of the film that promises to be an unmissable cinematic experience. Like ‘Life of Pi’ I am ignorant to the source material and the story in general but I am 100% sold on this thing. It looks like a game changer in the way ‘The Matrix’ was. I don’t want to put undeserved pressure on the film but, it’s happening. This thing looks monumental and you can be sure I’ll be well prepared before the film comes out. I have tasked my lovely wife to start reading the thing so she can tell me all I need to know. For now, head on over to /Film for a wonderful spoiler-free breakdown of the story by Russ Fischer so you can begin to grasp the scop of this trailer. Enjoy!
