‘The Dark Knight Returns: Part 1′ Official Trailer
July 31st, 2012 | Published in Film
Yes I know, I’ve already posted a trailer for the day but this one couldn’t wait till tomorrow. One of the quintessential Batman Comic story lines comes to life in the form of a new feature film from DC Comics and Warner Home Entertainment. Frank Millers seminal work looks incredible in this format and I can’t wait to see the finished product. As the title explains this particular work has been split up into two parts. This first part, like all DC/WB titles, will be released on DVD/BD on September 25th. Part 1 deals with Batman’s 10-year absence from Gotham and the events that lead to his return. If that sounds familiar it’s because it is. Christopher Nolan has stated time and time again that Frank Miller’s ‘Batman: Year One’ and ‘The Dark Knight Returns’ directly influenced his work on those films. There are obvious parralells in the two projects that audiences will be keen on but at the end of the day people need to understand that the comics came first. All I’d like to see, whether you like the film or not, is that more people head to their local comic shop and pick up the epic trade and read it. It’s some of the best story-telling in history and I don’t just mean comics. Take a look at the beautiful new trailer. Standouts: Peter Weller voicing the bat and female Robin(Carrie) looks like they scanned her right off the pages.
